General Accountability:

The Marketing & Business Development Officer will report to the General Manager and is expected to lead the planning and development of traditional, digital and social media solutions to improve the marketing of products and services of the Credit Union. 

The position holder is required to identify, recommend and develop the appropriate range of marketing channels and media designed to leverage the competitive advantage of the Credit Union’s products and services. The successful candidate is expected to direct the day-to-day customer intelligence framework activities of ASCU as well as coordinate and implement the Society’s marketing initiatives and drive the building and maintenance of the ASCU brand.

 

Specific Accountabilities:

1. Designs and presents marketing solutions to positively position the Credit Union’s suite of products and services for the benefit of new and existing members.

2. Leads the development of broad marketing and advertising strategy and plans to positively position the products and services of ASCU in the minds and hearts of its existing and emerging client base.

3. Leads the development of product advertisements, advertising content, activities and production.

4. Identifies and exploits new digital and social media applications in the Credit Union’s marketing thrust.

5. Reports on market intelligence with a view to present plans and programmes to competitively leverage ASCU’s product and service offerings.

6. Plans and designs product and services information for dissemination to members.

7. Briefs and meets with branch staff to provide guidelines on consumer promotions

8. Oversees the administration of ASCU’s social media platforms.

9. Undertakes assigned projects and other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

 

Person Specifications:

• Degree in Marketing or related discipline.

• (5)  years’ experience in retail marketing or advertising.

 

Specific Skills/Experience and/or Knowledge:

1. Computer literate particularly in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva etc.

2. Proficiency in web design and website management an asset.

3. Excellent time management and organisational skills.

4. Strong analytical skills.

5. Excellent communication skills.
