JOB SUMMARY

 

Accountable for the delivery of essential healthcare/ preventative care services to the employees of the various group health clients and for the execution of all clinical objectives and experiences.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manages, coordinates, and delivers nursing care to clients, e.g., Biometric testing.

2. Orders and maintains supplies and materials for the delivery of client care.

3. Conducts comprehensive nursing assessments of clients and performs nursing procedures on clients, demonstrating an appropriate level of competence.

4. Provides advice or offers specialist information to claims and audit teams where necessary.

5. Coordinates all appropriate activities at the service sites relative to client healthcare.

6. Reviews the progress of clients as guided by established clinical and nursing protocols.

7. Maintains timely, accurate and complete documentation of relevant records and registers, pertaining to the delivery of client care.

8. Participates in health promotion, health education, and preventative care activities with clients.

9. Counsel staff, clients and families in a range of health care settings.

10. Assesses and analyses critical situations and in collaboration with senior management, refers clients with health and social problems to the appropriate support agencies.

11. Keeps up to date on current health issues and technologies and shares relevant information and knowledge with relevant internal stakeholders.

12. Liaises with Sagicor’s Chief Medical Officer as necessary.

13. Complies with Company policies and procedures.

14. Performs any other duties as may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED Education/Experience

• A suitably qualified Registered Nurse with strong supervisory and coordination skills.

• Evidence-based knowledge of Principles and Practice of Primary Health Care and service delivery to clients in a variety of health care settings.

• Knowledge of Reporting Protocols in healthcare settings; procedures in the management of

documents, equipment, and resources in the administration and delivery of nursing care.

• Proven knowledge of Ministry of Health Public Health Policies, Nursing Act, Mental Health Act,

Health Services Act, and International Health Regulations.

• Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with

employees, management, and other company contacts.

• Strong customer service skills and client-related experience: ability to apply sound judgment and tact in the resolution of administrative, customer service, or social problems.

• Excellent administrative and organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

• Ability to maintain a professional Code of Ethics.

• A high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

• At least three (3) years’ experience in a clinical or mobile unit environment.
