OPERATIONS LEAD

A well-established fleet operations company in South Trinidad is seeking an experienced Operations Lead to take ownership of the safety, efficiency, and day-to-day performance of its fleet at its La Brea site. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on keeping people, equipment, and schedules running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Oversee safe operations of the fleet, administering all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and taking decisive action on any risks identified

·       Ensure the fleet of trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment is available, fully functional, and ready for dispatch at all times

·       Manage the daily dispatch of drivers and equipment, coordinating with clients and key stakeholders to meet operational schedules

·       Oversee vehicle servicing and repairs through the garage supervisor and mechanics team

·       Act as the primary point person coordinating the response to equipment breakdowns and operational incidents

·       Serve as site leader, directly supervising the garage supervisor, mechanics, drivers, and assistants, with clear daily direction and performance management

·       Be available on a 24/7 on-call basis as the primary liaison for after-hours operational events

What we are looking for:

·       5+ years' experience in fleet, yard, or operations management, ideally within waste management, oil & gas, or heavy equipment industries

·       Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams

·       Strong working knowledge of HSE standards and practices

·       Excellent communication skills and sound judgment under pressure

·       Computer literate; valid driver's license an asset

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with 24/7 on-call availability required for after-hours operational events.
