POSITION OVERVIEW:
An Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a company's operational processes to ensure efficiency, productivity, and compliance with company policies and industry standards. This role acts as a key link between frontline staff and upper management, ensuring smooth workflow, resolving issues, and implementing improvements across operational functions.

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES: 

1) Planning and Coordination:

Develop and review lifting plans, ensuring they are safe and comply with regulations.

 

2) Supervision:

Observe, coordinate and supervise all lifting activities in accordance to the Lifting Plan

Briefing all lifting team members (i.e., crane operators, riggers and signalmen) on the Lifting Plan, risk control measure and safe lifting procedure before the commencement of any lifting 

Inspect methods and techniques used for the safe rigging of cargo according to the lifting plan.

Operate communications equipment and radio channels.

Operate technology or electronic tools and devices.

Perform activities to improve quality of logistics services.

 

3) Risk Management:

Identify potential hazards associated with lifting operations and implement control measures to mitigate risks

 

4) Equipment Management:

Inspect and ensure the safe condition of lifting equipment, including cranes, hoists, and rigging gear.

 

5) Communication:

Establish clear communication channels and ensure all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.

 

6) Safety Compliance:

Enforce safety regulations and ensure adherence to safe lifting procedures.

 

7) Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of lifting operations, including lift plans, risk assessments, and equipment inspections.

 

8) Training and Development:

May be involved in training and mentoring lifting personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
