Position Overview

VE Medical is seeking a qualified Orthopedic Physician to join our multidisciplinary medical team in St. Lucia. The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment, including performing minor surgical procedures.

This role involves both outpatient and inpatient orthopedic consultations, with the opportunity to work in a modern medical facility supported by an experienced clinical team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outpatient and inpatient orthopedic examinations

  • Determine diagnoses and initiate appropriate treatment plans

  • Apply a wide range of professional assessment methods and techniques to manage orthopedic conditions

  • Develop and implement effective treatment strategies

  • Perform minor orthopedic surgical procedures

  • Incorporate and adapt new clinical procedures and techniques

  • Provide professional advice and consultation in critical care areas related to orthopedic conditions

  • Maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and clinical documentation


Work Environment

The successful candidate will:

  • Work alongside a team of experienced nurses who provide support during clinical consultations and surgical procedures

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary medical and holistic care team

  • Maintain the ability to work independently during patient consultations


Candidate Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent)

  • Postgraduate training or specialization in Orthopedics

  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills

  • Commitment to high standards of patient care

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Professional, compassionate, and proactive approach to patient treatment

  • Excellent spoken English


Licensing Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to obtain registration with the St. Lucia Medical Council.

Applicants must provide documentation required for the St. Lucia Medical License, which includes one of the following:

  • English as a native language, or

  • At least five years of work or study in an English-speaking country, or

  • Acceptable TOEFL scores or equivalent English proficiency certification
