Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Pastry & Prep Attendant to support our pastry and prep team in preparing and assembling high-quality food items and desserts for our customers. In this role, you will be involved in various aspects of food and dessert preparation. You will also assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment while following all food safety and health regulations.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
Assist in the preparation of batters, fillings, icings, and other dessert components.
Prepare and assemble desserts, including cakes, cookies, and pastries, ensuring consistency in appearance and flavour.
Follow recipes and instructions carefully to ensure quality standards are met.
Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including dishwashing and equipment care.
Monitor inventory of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Decorating and finishing desserts to meet company standards and customer requests.
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Work collaboratively with the pastry team and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in a pastry kitchen or bakery environment is preferred.
Knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert decoration.
Must have cake decorating skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.
Ability to work efficiently and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team.
A passion for creating high-quality, gourmet desserts.
Credentials & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary school or baking/pastry certification a plus.
1-2 years of relevant experience in a professional kitchen or pastry shop preferred.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid food badge
Must demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude.
