KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Programme Administration

  • Works with the Management and Case Management Team to plan and manage the overall programme.
  • Manages project leaders, mentors, educators, and counsellor performance.
  • Seeks and liaises with volunteers for the education of young men in the programme.
  • Works closely with the team to inculcate a safe, healthy, and homely environment.
  • Organises meetings with the vision team.
  • Responds to the needs and demands of Living Water Community as the parent body.
  • Facilitates staff development initiatives.
  • Prepares reports for donors, State institutions, and other relevant bodies.
  • Monitors computer and library usage.
  • Works with the team to ensure standards are maintained; monitors day-to-day running of the building and organisation, including building maintenance and routine public relations.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary for the effective functioning of Marian House.

Development Programme

  • Arranges specialised assessments of young men to determine developmental needs, including educational and social functioning, motivational levels for learning, and degree of social skills.
  • Collaborates with the team and young men to develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and continually assesses progress.
  • Coordinates and supervises all training, development, and extra-curricular activities for the young men.
  • Arranges placements in school or vocational training as appropriate.
  • Liaises with the Life Skills Coordinator for Sports and Recreation and Life Skills sessions.
  • Collaborates with the Manager/Team Leader on the Mentorship Programme.
  • Visits schools and attends school meetings.
  • Monitors the Client Academic Programme.
  • Liaises with schools to maintain a friendly, supportive relationship with school personnel and tracks the progress of each young man with the Education Field Officer.
  • Arranges and/or accompanies young men for medical, dental, psychological, psychiatric, and psychometric assessments and treatments.

Orientation Programme

  • Orients the family, support persons, and young man prior to intake.
  • Plans and coordinates the Orientation Programme for each intake in collaboration with the team.

Assessments

  • Co-leads the team in assessing and screening potential clients.
  • Gathers background information to determine whether a candidate meets screening criteria.

Family Programme

  • Organises meetings, counselling sessions, and parenting sessions for the young men's parents, guardians, and support persons.

Homework Centre

  • Plans and manages Homework Centre activities and after-school activities.
  • Arranges external tutoring classes as the need arises.

Networking

  • Liaises with New Life Ministries on the intake of young men with substance abuse issues and networks with similar institutions and organisations.
  • Attends workshops and seminars organised by the Children's Authority, the Prime Minister's Office, and the Ministry of Gender and Youth Affairs, etc.
  • Networks with corporate sponsors and stakeholders to seek sponsorship for the programme.

Whole Person Development

 

  • Plans for the continuous whole-person development of each resident, including spiritual development.
  • Ensures young men participate in the Mentorship Programme.
  • Plans special events such as festivals, celebrations, camps, and fun days.
