ABC Home Center is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Purchasing Assistant to support the Purchasing Officer in the day-to-day execution of procurement and inventory coordination activities. The role focuses on maintaining accurate purchasing records, tracking orders, coordinating inventory data, and ensuring purchasing documentation is properly maintained in line with company procedures.

This position requires strong computer literacy, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) based on approved requisitions.
  • Maintain and update the Purchase Plan and Order Status tracking sheets.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and track delivery timelines.
  • Communicate professionally with liaisons and all relevant persons. 
  •  Support item creation and updates in the ERP system, ensuring vendor and pricing accuracy.
  •  Generate inventory and reorder reports to support replenishment planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of out-of-stock and damaged items.
  • Support inventory reconciliation and cycle count activities.
  • Update supplier costs and landed costs in Odoo and internal tracking sheets.
  • Maintain organized purchasing documentation and records.
  • Prepare periodic reports on purchasing activity and order status.
  • Ensure all purchasing transactions are supported by proper documentation and follow company procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory coordination, accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Odoo is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
