Core Responsibilities

 • Preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements. 

• Analysis of financial data to identify and correct discrepancies, and making recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the financial system. 

• Supervision and mentoring of subordinate staff to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, in accordance with established procedures. 

• Approval of weekly payments to insurers relating to online payments.

• Ensuring that outstanding receivables and payables are maintained at a minimum.

• Preparation of monthly general ledger account analyses and posting of the appropriate journal entries.

• Recording direct and online client deposits to the various bank accounts and forwarding this information to the respective Account Executives/CSRs so that client accounts may be credited accordingly. 

• Supervision of the reconciliation of daily bank deposits, including debit and credit card transactions, with the company’s financial system. 

• Assistance with the execution of external audits, as well as the remittance of statutory payroll deductions and quarterly income tax instalments.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with 3rd parties, subordinate staff and other departments within the company 

• Attention to detail and proven analytical skills

 

Qualifications

 • At least 5 years’ experience in a senior accounting position

• Holder of an ACCA (level 2) or similar designation and or combination of work experience

• Supervisory experience at a senior level

• High level of proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets and word processing.

• Sage Software experience would be an asset
