Full-time position within Living Water Community- Marian House, responsible for creating and maintaining a supportive "second chance family" environment, while providing care in a safe, therapeutic and homely environment for the young men at Marian House. Teaching sustainable values and virtues through modeling, motivation, and discipline, while equipping them with life skills for personal and holistic development. Works collaboratively with the administrative team and houseother to ensure resident well being and program success.
Key Responsibilities The main duties and responsibilities of the Supervisor include: Resident Care and Support
Foster a "second chance family" environment where residents feel happy, safe, and supported
Provide direct supervision and support to male residents during assigned shifts and all programme activities
Implement and maintain daily routines, schedules, and structured activities
Monitor residents' physical and emotional well-being, reporting any concerns to case management team
Maintain appropriate boundaries while building supportive relationships with residents
Document resident progress, incidents, and daily activities in designated log books
Ensure contents of First Aid Kits are easily accessible.
Administer medications and distribute approved petty cash to residents.
Facility and Safety Management
Ensure proper security measures are maintained at all times
Ensure facility cleanliness, maintenance, and safety protocols are followed
Conduct regular facility inspections and report maintenance needs
Responsible for access and egress, for keys boxes, master key and keys to all areas.
Be familiar with emergency procedures and disabling of alarm
Conduct and document quarterly fire drills
Manage inventory of stipulated supplies and equipment
Ensure residents are adhering to safety measures
Lend monitoring support to St. Joseph Apartment when needed
Oversee shift changes and maintain detailed shift reports
Occupancy & Behaviour Management
Manage room assignments across two floors
Recommend action plans for individual case conferences
Engage with floor captains on house rules and cleanliness
Identify and recommend residents for leadership roles and second floor promotion
Review and assess chore completion
Conduct searches of residents’ and/or visitors’ declared belongings.
Implement merit and consequence system via established discipline matrix
Foster whole person development aligned with LWC Core Values, Mission & Vision
Administrative Duties
Maintain confidentiality regarding privileged information
Support other caregiving staff or service providers during shifts
Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by facility policies and regulatory bodies
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
Participate in team-based approach to youth development
Participate in screening interview panels for potential residents
Assist in developing and implementing program improvements
Coordinate with external service providers and stakeholders as directed
The required combination of qualifications, skills and experience include: Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Over five (5) years experience in residential care or related field
A Certificate of Good Character (renewable every six (6) months)
Proof of first aid and CPR training
Knowledge of Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago standards of care
Will be required to apply for food badge
Physical Requirements
Male candidate, age 35 and over
Ability to stand for extended periods
Move throughout multi-story building
Lift up to 25 pounds
Required Skills and Attributes
Basic understanding of trauma-informed care
Proven training in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
Experience working with at-risk youth
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries
High level of discretion and confidentiality
Working Conditions
Full-time position with rotating shifts
Residential setting requiring periods of standing, walking, and physical activity
May involve management/de-escalation of challenging behaviors and crisis situations
Must be available for emergency response when needed
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
