PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Supply Chain Lead will play a pivotal role in managing customer and supplier relationships, coordinating logistics, overseeing demand planning and facilitating export operations to ensure customer satisfaction. The role leads and develops a team to drive efficient, cost-effective and compliant procurement and supply chain processes, supporting seamless manufacturing operations while ensuring adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements and safety standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supplier & Customer Relationship Management:
• Lead supplier and customer relationship management, ensuring strategic partnerships that support reliable supply and exceptional service delivery.
• Oversee and proactively address supply chain challenges, including delays, shortages, and quality issues, implementing solutions to minimize operational impact.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, aligning supply chain strategies with production schedules and customer requirements to optimize efficiency and performance.
Procurement & Import/Export Coordination:
• Manage and oversee procurement activities, including strategic sourcing, order placement, and supplier follow-up to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Supervise import/export operations, ensuring all shipments comply with international trade regulations, documentation requirements, and customs procedures.
• Lead coordination with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to international customers.
Logistics & Distribution:
• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, optimizing transportation strategies to reduce lead times and improve efficiency.
• Manage shipment tracking and resolution of transportation disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on operations and customer delivery.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of all shipping documentation, for both domestic and international shipments.
Demand Planning:
• Lead collaboration with production and purchasing teams to forecast demand and plan optimal inventory levels.
• Oversee inventory management, monitoring stock to prevent shortages or excess and ensure operational continuity.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping for inventory usage, procurement orders and shipments, maintaining data integrity across the supply chain.
Compliance & Safety:
• Ensure compliance across procurement, supply chain and import/export operations, adhering to company policies, local regulations and international trade standards.
Process Improvement & Cost Optimization:
• Identify opportunities to streamline supply chain processes and reduce operational costs.
• Implement best practices in procurement, logistics, inventory, and import/export operations.
• Provide regular reports and insights to management on performance, costs, and operational improvements.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in supply chain coordination, preferably in a manufacturing or export-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations, import/export documentation and shipping processes.
• Proficiency with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
