Position Overview:

The Theatre Supervisor will ensure that all staff in the operating theatre, execute their duties in a very professional and efficient manner and adhere to the standards, policies and procedures of Medcorp Limited to deliver a high level of quality care. The supervisor works closely with the Nursing Administrator to achieve strategic goals and objectives as outlined by Medcorp Limited. The theatre supervisor should be able to maintain good relationships with the surgeons, anesthetists and staff so that the environment in the theatre remains focus driven, hospitable, professional, harmonious and with high level of camaraderie. Ensuring that up-to-date infection control and prevention techniques are being practiced and maintained is paramount.

Minimum Requirements:

·         Candidate with a Bachelors /Diploma in General Nursing

·         Registered with the Trinidad and Tobago Nursing Council

·         Certificate in Theatre Nursing

·         Minimum of five (5) years working in the Operating Theatre Environment.

·         Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in Supervision and/ Management role

·         Knowledge in Infection Prevention and Control

·         Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

·         Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

·         Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
