The Underwriting Manager is responsible for leading and managing the underwriting function, ensuring the effective execution of underwriting activities in accordance with the Company’s underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The role also supports the review and negotiation of annual reinsurance treaties.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• ACII, CPCU, BSc in Insurance and Risk Management, or an equivalent professional qualification in general insurance.
• Extensive knowledge and practical experience in underwriting across multiple classes of general insurance.
• Sound knowledge of current developments, emerging trends, legislation, regulatory requirements, and best practices within the general insurance industry.
• Postgraduate qualification would be an asset.
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant experience, preferably including experience in a managerial or supervisory underwriting role.
• An equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience may be considered.
