Description
Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) manages a major fuel-efficient power plant in Trinidad and Tobago. The 720-megawatt (MW) TGU facility is a combined-cycle power plant which is owned by the National Investment Fund (NIF), the latter is a wholly owned entity of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT). The plant is located at the Union Industrial Estate, La Brea, and is supported by a Corporate Office in Chaguanas.
Job Purpose:
The Compliance Manager will develop and oversee the company’s compliance program, functioning as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns within the organization. The position will manage, advise and report on compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, company policies and procedures, and behavior that meets the Company’s Standards of Conduct.
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
- An appropriate 1st degree (Finance or Engineering) from a recognized institution.
- Post graduate degree in Business Management and Administration or equivalent combination of accreditation and training.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services and regulatory environment with a clear understanding of the energy and power industry.
- •A minimum of 8 years management experience in the field of governance, risk management, audit, and/or compliance, at least 4 of which should be in commercial and corporate compliance.
- Recognized professional certification in Law and Corporate Governance will be an asset.
- Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures and regulations.
