Position Title: IT Administrator

Department: Information Technology

Division: IT & Finance

Reports To: Information Technology Manager

Division Head: Chief Financial Officer
 
 
POSITION SUMMARY

Supports the Information Technology Manager in planning, controlling and executing the strategies and actions to ensure the Information Technology Systems are functional, as required by the Company’s operational needs, guided by established policies and procedures.  The incumbent is required to interact with local and regional team members and vendors.


RESPONSIBILITES
 
  1. Network Management: Design, implement, and maintain computer networks including LAN, WAN, and intranet systems.
  2. Server Administration: Install, configure, and manage servers (both physical and virtual) including operating system installation, updates, and security patches.
  3. User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with system setups and configurations.
  4. Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems to protect against cyber threats. Protect the Company’s I.T. assets, including but not limited to, information, documents (electronic and printed), communication links, systems, software, databases, data room, hardware and network, configurations, and settings, to safeguard Company's profitability, competitive advantage, jobs, reputation, customer confidence and the good relations with internal and external parties.
  5. Data Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement data backup strategies to ensure data integrity and perform regular backups.
  6. Software Deployment: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software applications across the organization.
  7. Documentation: Maintain documentation for network configurations, system procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  8. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for procurement of I.T. equipment and services and manage vendor relationships.
  9. Policy Development: Develop and enforce I.T. policies and procedures related to security, usage, and compliance.
  10. Training and Education: Provide training sessions for employees on new software or technology tools and conduct cybersecurity awareness training.
  11. Execute all relevant responsibilities as outlined in the Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities Matrix (MT-GM-004) to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  12. Perform any other related duties that may be assigned.
 
EDUCATION & TRAINING
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or any other related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Bilingual capability in Spanish/English will be an asset.
  • I.T. Related Project Management Certification will be an asset.

EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in I.T. / managing Information Systems.
  • Knowledge of ICT Networking (Cisco, switching and routing, wireless, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, firewall, Active Directory), PBX, handheld scanners, camera systems, servers, NAS, attendance system, data backup, UTP cabling, optical fiber, I.T. Security, service desk support.
  • Knowledge and experience with IBMi and Infor ERP Lx (former BPCS Business Planning and Control System) will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of computer programming (.NET, VBA and RPG) and database management (Microsoft SQL Server and IBMi DB2) will be an asset.
  • Experience managing I.T. projects.
