Description
The Quality Officer will be required to assist the Quality Assurance Manager in overseeing the Company’s ISO 9001:2015 standard and integrate other processes, policies and ESG (environmental, social and governance) systems to meet organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist in the maintenance of ISO 9001:2015.
- Report to QA Manger on quality breaches and make recommendations.
- Plan and conduct quality inspections and audits which will include generating reports and follow-up with departmental heads for status required.
- Enforce and ensure compliancy to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Schedule and conduct GMP audits and maintain records.
- Analyze quality inspections conducted as part of ongoing development of operating procedures.
- Facilitate the training and orientation programs for employees on quality and food safety as required.
- Develop quality related training materials and maintain as training records.
- Maintain the Non-Conformance database and analyze data for as required.
- Inspect/oversee the Quarantine Area to ensure compliance with established procedures and submit required reports.
- Analyze monthly On-Time Delivery and provide status report.
- Maintain communication with Production on customer complaints, obtaining progress and documenting in the NCR database.
- Maintain the Master Calibration Listing.
- Develop strong customer relations through the conduct/involvement of partnership meetings.
- Assist in conducting customer audits, third party audits and necessary follow-up actions.
- Assist in promoting a sustainable culture of quality awareness and continual improvement.
- Conduct various analytical testing in the QA Laboratory.
- Perform any other job-related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- Bachelor degree in Food Science, Chemistry or Quality related field.
- At least five (5) years working in a food quality and GMP environment as a supervisory level.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment.
OR Any combination of qualifications and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management system.
- Train the Trainer certification would be an asset.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Excellent oral communication/presentation skills.
- Research abilities to assist in duties.
- Ability to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to manage technical personnel and information
- Ability to work independently with little direction
