Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and manage the repairs and maintenance activities of marine assets, associated machinery and equipment to ensure that established optimum uptime targets are met, on time and within budget.
- Prepare, manage and report on an annual budget for all activities under manager’s purview.
- Prepare, manage and report on projects under the manager’s purview.
- Ensure the technical integrity of assets by establishing, maintaining and implementing appropriate inspection and maintenance strategies.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on the operation of plant, property, equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure that the Company adheres to relevant safety and quality management systems, applicable national legislation and regulations as well as international conventions, guidelines and best practices.
- Manage the optimal use of all relevant information systems ensuring a system of timely inputs of data and output of reports.
- General supervision of assigned staff.
- Prepare and deliver periodic reports to the General Manager and the Board of Directors.
- Advise the General Manager and the Board of Directors on all technical, engineering, drydock and repairs and maintenance matters.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS/ QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science degree Engineering
- Qualification in Ship Repair Management
- Chief Engineer Unlimited, STCW Call III/2
- Project Management Certification an asset
- Experience in classification society surveying
- Keeping abreast of emerging technologies
- At least 10 years engineering and maintenance management experience, preferably in the Marine Transportation Industry.
- Versed with Reporting Tools and sound knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Software.
