Reports To: Vice President of Shared Services
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of revenue reports for diverse revenue streams
- Oversee the maintenance and compliance of controls within the billing system deriving the source information necessary to record the activity within the revenue, accounts receivable and deferred revenue accounts
- Analyze revenue trends, customer usage patterns, and subscription metrics, providing actionable insights to senior finance leadership for data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with billing and operations teams to validate revenue data integrity, ensuring that all services rendered are accurately billed and reported.
- Implement revenue assurance controls to detect, report, and resolve revenue leakage
- Conduct monthly reconciliations between billing systems, ERP, and financial statements to ensure alignment across all reporting platforms.
- Manage the month-end close process for revenue, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Generate revenue reports that account for deferred revenues, discounts, and promotional offerings, with an understanding of how these impact total revenue.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, GAAP, and IFRS standards, and maintain strong internal controls to support audits. Partner with IT to optimize ERP and revenue management systems for telecom revenue reporting, leveraging automation and data analytics tools to increase reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead and mentor the revenue reporting team, fostering expertise in revenue management and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement. Set performance goals aligned with Shared Services objectives, providing ongoing coaching and professional development to build a high-performing team skilled in revenue reporting.
- Act as a point of contact for revenue-related inquiries from auditors, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership, providing guidance as needed.
- Provide senior management with detailed analysis of revenue performance across service lines, product launches, and geographic regions, highlighting trends, risks, and growth opportunities. Prepare ad hoc revenue reports and analytics to support product launches, pricing adjustments, and market expansion
Qualifications:
- Experience in process improvement and accounting automation implementations.
- CA/CPA or ACCA qualified.
- Experience with liaising with internal and external audits.
- 5+ years of relevant experience and 3+ years of people management skills
- Strong GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley background
- Experience working in the telecommunications industry is desirable but not required
- Proven leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong team player
- Highly organized and forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of financial operations
- Strong skills in ERP and business solutions software
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
