Job Description
 
Job Title: Inventory Control Officer
 
Reports to: Operations Manager
 
Role: This role is primarily responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing inventory levels, coordinating orders and deliveries and performing regular inventory audits, and forecasting to ensure consistent stock levels.
 
Work Context: Highly organized and have a detailed knowledge of the supply chain management software and practices. Additionally, be able to accurately forecast inventory requirements and possess excellent logistical abilities.
 
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Monitors inventory levels of raw materials and consumables and replenish stock as needed.
  2. Develops and implements inventory control systems and practices.
  3. Liaising and negotiating with vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality of stock purchased.
  4. Coordinates the logistics of purchase orders, stock transfers, deliveries, tags and processes.
  5. Forecasts supply and demand requirements to ensure stock availability.
  6. Tracks inbound and outbound orders to prevent overstocking and out-of-stock.
  7. Analyses and reviews supply chain data to identify and resolve issues.
  8. Generates purchase and pricing reports, supply chain analysis, and inventory management systems.
  9. Performs regular stock checks and reports any issues to the supervisor.
  10. Maintains and updates records of purchase orders, pricing reports and inventory records.
  11. Performs any other related duties required by management to ensure the effective, efficient and successful operation of the Company.
 
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Degree in Logistics, Inventory Management or other relevant certification and at least three (3) years’ experience in warehousing, inventory, logistics or similar.
  • Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Exceptional understanding of inventory management practices
  • Good analytical and logistical thinking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
