Description
Job Title: Inventory Control Officer
Reports to: Operations Manager
Role: This role is primarily responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing inventory levels, coordinating orders and deliveries and performing regular inventory audits, and forecasting to ensure consistent stock levels.
Work Context: Highly organized and have a detailed knowledge of the supply chain management software and practices. Additionally, be able to accurately forecast inventory requirements and possess excellent logistical abilities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitors inventory levels of raw materials and consumables and replenish stock as needed.
- Develops and implements inventory control systems and practices.
- Liaising and negotiating with vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality of stock purchased.
- Coordinates the logistics of purchase orders, stock transfers, deliveries, tags and processes.
- Forecasts supply and demand requirements to ensure stock availability.
- Tracks inbound and outbound orders to prevent overstocking and out-of-stock.
- Analyses and reviews supply chain data to identify and resolve issues.
- Generates purchase and pricing reports, supply chain analysis, and inventory management systems.
- Performs regular stock checks and reports any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintains and updates records of purchase orders, pricing reports and inventory records.
- Performs any other related duties required by management to ensure the effective, efficient and successful operation of the Company.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Logistics, Inventory Management or other relevant certification and at least three (3) years’ experience in warehousing, inventory, logistics or similar.
- Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Exceptional understanding of inventory management practices
- Good analytical and logistical thinking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
