Job Summary:
The Commercial Executive (Sales) helps to grow the business by finding leads, satisfying customer needs, closing sales, and supporting existing clients.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Conducting market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs Daily
- Setting up meetings with potential clients and listening to their wishes and concerns Weekly
- Manages and retains relationships with existing clients, by developing a client database and maintaining regular contact. Daily
- Generates “potential” client list (prospects). Maintains contact to build relationships. Weekly
- Acquires and builds new clientele from the assigned geographic business sector, through cold calling, networking and social media Daily
- Works closely with the pricing department, and negotiates to get the best quote option for the customer and to close the sale. Daily
- Prepares and submits weekly Sales report Weekly
- Assists in overseeing the different phases of the shipping process from shipment, through customs clearance and receipt of payments. Daily
- Works closely with other departments to ensure the customer receives quality service. Weekly
- Assists with customer complaints, or enquiries relative to products, services or purchases, and see any disputes through to the end, ensuring customer satisfaction. Weekly
- Adheres to the company’s HSE policies and practices and ensures the work environment is healthy and safe. Daily
- Any other duties assigned to you from time to time Daily
ISL HSE Responsibilities:
- Conduct work in a safe manner complying with ISL policies, standards and procedures.
- Report all incidents immediately to their supervisor.
- Participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks and all HSE initiatives of ISL.
- Identify and report all unsafe acts and conditions present in their operations to their supervisor.
- Understands the right to stop work, the work of other employees or the work of third-party employees where there is an unacceptable risk.
OSH Act Responsibilities:
- To take reasonable care for the safety and health of himself and of other persons who may be affected by his acts or omissions at work.
- As regards any duty or requirement imposed on his employer to co-operate with him so far as necessary to ensure that that duty or requirement is performed or complied with.
- To report to his employer, any contravention under this Act or any Regulations made there under, the existence of which he knows.
- To correctly use the personal protective clothing or devices provided for his use.
- To exercise the discretion under section 15 (Refusal to work) in a responsible manner; and To ensure that he is not under the influence of an intoxicant to the extent that he is in such a state as to endanger his own safety, health or welfare at work or that of any other person.
EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE
- Business Management Degree
- Knowledge of Sales and Marketing
- Shipping and Logistics
SKILLS
- Proven experience as a Sales Executive or relevant role
- Proficiency in English
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques
- Fast learner with a passion for sales
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations.
