Description
Report To: Directors, Lead & HSE Administrator and Senior Management Team
Direct Reports: Mechanics, Tyre Technicians, Wash Bay attendants, Handymen, Service- men, Dispatchers
Responsibilities:
- Supervise garage staff (Mechanics, welders, tyremen, wash bay attendant, handyman, drivers, loaders, stores clerk etc)
- Assist in the HR management in the division together with the Waste Division Lead & HSE Administrator
- Create & Organize daily work schedules to adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with diesel engines.
- Ensure vehicle servicing -minimum quarterly and documented accordingly.
- Monitor & maintain required stock levels for efficient flow of work.
- Inspect & verify vehicle repairs / maintenance conducted.
- Ensure vehicles are road worthy daily
- Ensure inspections and certifications are tracked and valid
- Ensure equipment on customer sites are suitable for purpose and are in satisfactory condition.
- Ensure compliance with criteria for operating on customer sites.
- Enforce and uphold HSE regulations
- Continually assess workplace for potential hazards, identify hazards, implement controls to minimise risks to personnel, plant and equipment
- Liaise with external service providers & suppliers
- Prepare JSA’s & Perform Risk assessments
- Ensure efficient dispatch in accordance with service schedules
- Ensure Toolbox meetings are carried out and documented with all crews
- Keep premises to standards required in compliance with OSH ACT- follow documented process
- Perform administrative tasks
- Stand in for Lead, when required
- Be on call for emergencies and breakdowns beyond working hours
- Report to/Liaise with Lead & Directors
- Any other duties as assigned by Lead and Directors
Experience :
- 5 years in a Supervisory Role
- Experience with working with Diesel Engines & Hydraulic Systems
- Good working knowledge of diesel engines
- Good working knowledge of Hydraulic Systems
- Mechanical/Diesel Engine Certification
- Post Secondary Training/Qualifications
- Microsoft 365
- Strong Communication skills,
- Agile in thinking
- Ability to Supervise a large workforce
- Ability to work as part of a Team and independently
