JOB TITLE: LOGISTICS CLERK

LOCATION: Chaguanas (Head Office)

DEPARTMENT: LOGISTICS & PURCHASING

REPORTS TO: MANAGER, PURCHASING
 
Job purpose
The Logistics Clerk will provide support to Optex Laboratories by efficiently completing when receiving and by monitoring and maintaining adequate inventory levels and ensuring prompt and efficient distribution of inventory to departments and retail stores. The holder of this position must also comply with the Company’s inventory and distribution policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Review daily inventory reports and liaises with various departments to monitor and maintain adequate inventory items.
  • Replenishes inventory levels daily. This includes completing orders, packing, sealing and labeling of items for distribution according to schedule.
  • Processes and verifies shipments and completes the relevant paperwork. Damages or errors must be immediately reported to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Performs inventory transactions and updates Practice Management software database with entries.
  • Ensures accurate tagging and coding of inventory items before completing transfers.
  • Ensures inventory received, distributed and stored are in accordance with the relevant documentation. Reviews that all relevant documentation for inventory is prepared accurately, bringing all errors to the attention of the Purchasing Manager.
  • Maintains custody and safekeeping of all inventory items.
  • Prepares and maintains inventory reports and submits to the Purchasing Manager daily.
  • Update shipment tracking sheet and pass completed shipment files to Accounts.
  • Performs routine administrative duties, including data entry, answering telephones, and assisting customers.
  • Participate in a level of cross-functional training to enable continuity and to ensure that the department’s delivery of service is never compromised in the absence of any staff.
  • Any other related duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.

Qualifications
  • Five (5) C.X.C subjects inclusive of Mathematics and English
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ administrative support and/or distribution experience
  • Support and/or distribution experience.
  • POS software experience will be an asset.
