We are an Engineering based company that has been in existence for over 23 years providing Turnkey Engineered Solutions and Services to various Industries within Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean. We are seeking applicants to fill the position of an Execution Engineer. The main role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising various project phases to guarantee timely delivery and adherence to standards.
About the role
Key responsibilities of the Engineer shall include:
- Coordinate with design engineering teams for receipt of and familiarization with project designs in preparation for execution
- Responsible for Planning and Execution of awarded projects from pre-construction preparation through to handover and close-out with support from other project teams and ensuring fit-for-purpose application of best practices, technology, and execution strategies for smooth and successful execution of projects across the various phases. The role includes the co-ordination and management of sub-contractors with support of Site Supervisors.
- Overseeing the operational aspects of engineering projects, conducting quality assurance reviews and ensuring that all activities are executed efficiently and effectively and in accordance with best industry practices.
- Review and evaluate engineering specifications, requests for proposals, contract documents, and design drawings. Preparation of calculations, designs and proposals.
- Preparation of Project Schedules utilizing Microsoft Project or alternative project management software.
- Lead/direct the sourcing/procurement process for projects.
- Evaluate project progress for reporting to management / project teams / client and preparation of financial claims
- Coordinate with client for site requirements and provide updates to the client as stipulated
- Assess contractors’ payment requests
- Manage project site materials, storage and inventories. Ensure requisitions are made for materials required for the project in an efficient and timely manner. Ensure that materials / equipment on site are received in good condition, secured and can be accounted for.
- Ensure that the safety requirements of the client are adhered to by company personnel and subcontractors
- Prepare methodologies, job safety analyses and risk assessments related to execution works as required by the client
- Provide adequate written and oral project reporting.
- Ensure project deliverables are met as per project timelines and within cost.
Experience and qualifications
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Project Management training or certification will be an asset
- Above 10 years experience in Engineering
- Over 5 years of Field experience
- Multidiscipline engineering skills would be an asset
- Working knowledge of technical drawing, plans, prints, specifications, and schematics
- Experience in Estimating/Tendering
- Ability to work in fast paced environments
- Ability to plan, execute and oversee projects
- Knowledge of Construction procedures and practices
- A full combination of technical skills, project management abilities, and strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, while meeting quality standards
