Position : Account Assistant

Reporting Relationship: Binding Department

Job Summary :
To provide assistance to the Department Head and Team Lead by contributing to the effective administration of assigned insurance portfolios; aiding the acquisition of new business to build portfolio and maintaining existing business to achieve department and company targets. To maintain customer service excellence.

Main Job Functions:
  1. Assist the Head of Department and team in the execution of their duties (by liaising with insurers, clients and financial institutions, and providing feedback & follow-up support).
  2. Visit clients with Manager/AE to secure new business and obtain renewal of existing covers.
  3. Obtain information for coverage from customers via Telephone/Fax/Email and liaise with Insurers to obtain most competitive rate.
  4. Prepare cover notes/certificates of insurance for customers for signature by authorized signatory in order to finalize the transaction.
  5. Input data for invoicing on system in order to provide client with details of coverage and premium.
  6. Reconcile Bordereaux prior to submission to insurers to avoid errors.
  7. Negotiate competitive rates and terms for existing and new business.
  8. Verify and dispatch all client-related documentation to clients, insurers and financial institutions.
  9. Follow-up and respond to all correspondences in a timely manner.
  10. Perform related duties from time-to-time

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Five (5) GCE O Levels & Two (2) A Levels.
  • Certificate in Insurance Studies/Business Management Studies.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years working experience in a similar function.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EPIC or equivalent broker / insurer application
