Job Title: Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Technical Lead

Department: Maintenance
 
POSITION SUMMARY
The ICT Technical Lead is accountable for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the company’s Information and Communication Technology environment. This role provides technical leadership and assurance across all ICT systems, both hardware and software, and ensures their alignment with the company’s operational, safety, and strategic requirements.

The ICT Technical Lead oversees ICT infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, and user support services. The role includes supervising the ICT team, providing hands-on technical expertise, managing projects and vendors, and ensuring the secure and reliable functioning of all ICT assets.

This position reports to the E&I Superintendent and requires strong analytical thinking, technical competency, service orientation, and the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ICT Technical Lead shall supervise the Systems Administrator, Software Engineer and ICT Technician as part of their portfolio.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical assurance for all ICT systems—software, hardware, infrastructure, and services—to ensure reliability, security, and compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for key technologies, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), server management, networking, and cybersecurity.
  • Provide assurance on all ICT system designs, configurations, and deployments to meet performance, reliability, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Lead the migration and ongoing support of on-premise systems to cloud environments.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or changes to meet operational needs.
  • Oversee the health and performance of database systems and cloud-hosted services.​
  • Ensures that the company ICT assets and infrastructure are secured and are maintained responsibly.
  • Manage and optimize the Companys hybrid ICT infrastructure (on-premise and cloud).
  • Oversee the operations and maintenance of ERP and EAM Software solutions and support with connected OT/IT systems and applications.
  • Oversee system updates, patch management, backups, endpoint security, and change controls.
  • Ensure data flows and integration between ERP, EAM systems, and business intelligence tools.​
  • Supervise ICT team members, assigning responsibilities, providing coaching, and supporting continuous technical development.
  • Foster a service-driven, collaborative team culture aligned with company values.
  • Conduct performance reviews, support training plans, and ensure adherence to the Company’s HR and HSSE policies.​
  • Lead and execute ICT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, digital transformation initiatives, and application rollouts.
  • Define project timelines, deliverables, and resource plans while coordinating with internal departments and external vendors.
  • Drive adoption of cloud-first and mobile-enabled enterprise solutions.​
  • Enforce data privacy protocols and cybersecurity policies in line with international standards.
  • Implement and maintain general IT controls (ICTGC) to support audit compliance and business continuity.
  • Conduct risk assessments on critical systems and ensure robust disaster recovery plans are in place.​
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to define system requirements, improve user experience, and support business functions.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, cloud providers, and service contractors, ensuring SLAs and licensing agreements are upheld.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions on ICT investments, technology roadmaps, and digital innovation.​
 
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSc. Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering (Software) or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive ICT experience, including at least 3 years in technical leadership or supervisory role.
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications would be considered and asset.
  • Professional certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), CompTIA A+/Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), ITIL Foundation, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with the following would be considered and asset:
    • SAP S/4HANA and/or Microsoft Dynamics GP (functional and integration support)
    • IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) – administration, interface support
    • SQL for developing queries, automating data workflows, and generating reports
    • Python (automation, system integration, or dashboarding)
    • SaaS application deployment and management (e.g., Office 365, SharePoint Online, Azure AD)
    • Network and firewall management, VPNs, endpoint security​
