Maintains accounting records of investment entities utilising strict internal controls and best industry accounting practice and principles in order to achieve the internal and external financial reporting requirements of the Grou

This would include but not be limited to monitoring and review of financial performance, facilitation of audits and ensuring compliance with tax legislation.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

Processes day to day transactions for investment entities including invoice processing, cheque payments etc.

Liaises with external parties to obtain reports and information pertinent to accounting transactions.

Maintains general ledger accounting records for investment entities.

Complies with VAT and tax regulations including calculation of quarterly tax payments, preparation of annual
tax computations and assembling data for tax returns.

Prepares management accounts, special reports and analyses of both financial and investment data for use by the Executive.

Provides relevant financial information as required by stakeholders (e.g. banks, hotel and rental franchise).

Prepares financial statements, compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (I.F.R.S.) for the
investment entities.

Prepares consolidated financial statements, compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards
(I.F.R.S.) for the Group.

Facilitates annual statutory audits as well as ad hoc audits conducted by the Board of Inland Revenue.

Continuously learn new technical information as it relates to financial reporting standards and information
technology.

Performs other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

(i) Degree level accounting qualification or other accounting certification such as ACCA or CIMA.

(ii) Five (5) years experience in an accounting or audit environment.

iii) Experience with preparation or review of financial statements compliant with IFRS.



COMPETENCIES/JOB COMPETENCY PROFILE

 

Technical:

Working knowledge of I.F.R.S. and standards pertaining to Group consolidations

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and various data management systems implemented in the Company.
A full appreciation for operating guidelines/policies and procedures.
