Job Summary
The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is an integral member of the Executive team, which reports to the CEO. This role develops and executes commercial strategies that drive revenue generation, business growth, profitability, shareholder returns and customer value. Moreover, the CCO leads, guides, and aligns the Commercial functions of Business Development, Sales, Innovation, and Marketing in a manner consistent with the strategy to achieve  the mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement commercial strategies that align with the company's overall business goals 
  • Proactively identify commercial opportunities, develop commercial models and drive technology optimisation to achieve profit and growth targets
  • Set revenue targets, optimise pricing strategies, and oversee sales and marketing activities to maximise revenue and market share.
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, monitor competitors, and lead efforts to capitalize on new business ventures
  • Negotiate strategic alliances or acquisitions to drive business growth
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty. 
  • Develop innovative products and strategies to win new customers and increase market share
  • Manage customer relationships and measure customer satisfaction through customer insight programmes
  • Ensure a robust after-sales process to deliver strong customer engagement
  • Lead sales, marketing, business development, technical extension services and product innovation to align commercial objectives with overall business goals 
  • Build a high-performing sales team to execute end-to-end sales, including outreach, closing deals and implementation
  • Develop and manage budgets for commercial operations, ensure product mix pricing delivers contribution and gross profit targets and supports the review of financial reports and projections.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

• Masters’ degree in Business Administration or related Post-graduate qualification

• B.Sc. degree in Management, Marketing  or Social Sciences

• 10+ years of leadership experience in sales, commercial strategy, or revenue operations, ideally with 3–5 years in a CCO or VP Sales role

• Proven track record in building and scaling high-performance sales teams and revenue organizations

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate vision into execution

• Deep understanding of CRM systems, forecasting tools, and sales analytics

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and leadership presence

• Agile, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in high-growth and fast-paced environments

• Strong experience in consultative sales and possess the ability to prospect and manage senior-level relationships

• Highly goal-oriented with excellent interpersonal & communication skills

• Strategic thinker & problem solver with the ability to be hands-on

• High ethical standards and integrity in all actions
