Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly qualified Contract Engineer that is responsible for management of all commercial relationships between key clients and the Company. The contract Engineer will lead the efforts associated with contract life cycle management.

 

Objectives:

  • Ensuring compliance with Contract deliverables by both parties
  • Maximize Company returns under the Contract
  • Ascertaining future service requirements for all Client departments.
  • Build, manage, and maintain all existing client relationships to keep business growth opportunities a key consideration.
  • Maximizing all commercial opportunities with respective Client key   contractors /vendors
  • Assist Business Development with review and negotiation of contract upselling agreements with respective Clients

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management

  • Monitoring contract performance and compliance, recommending improvements and innovations to oversight of contract process, and ensuring contract accuracy.
  • Working closely with respective Clients to understand the company’s strategy for their future Guyana operations.
  • Resolution of any Client issues and complaints
  • Oversee submission and subsequent approval of any Contract Amendments, incorporating all Variation Orders.
  • Negotiate Client Contract Amendments and escalate any complex legal and contractual issues to the Company Commercial Manager & Company General Council and assist in resolution.
  • Ensure respective Handover Certificates are prepared, submitted and signed for all Facilities, Equipment or Manpower resources provided.
  • Assist BD Department with upselling proposals to respective Clients.
  • Prepare data on Contract operations for reporting to management.
  • Review Client billings within Finance to ensure maximum potential returns are achieved.

Vendor Contract Management

  • Provision of standard terms and conditions for purchased orders
  • Provision of contract support for Vendor engagement

Contract Drafting & Issuance

  • Prepare, review, and finalize vendor contracts based on procurement’s recommendation and tender outcomes.
  • Ensure contractual terms reflect agreed commercial arrangements, scope of work, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Incorporate appropriate legal, HSE, compliance, and risk-mitigation clauses into vendor agreements.
  • Coordinate with Legal (where required) for contract compliance and enforceability.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years prior experience.
  • Educated to a degree level in a subject that covers contract law, such as:
    • General law
    • Engineering
    • Business or contract management
  • A proven history of successful contracts management
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Must have ability to use own initiative and have strong negotiation skills
  • Possess a collaborative mindset and work well as part of a team
  • Superior time management abilities and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key clients
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
