An established organisation in Trinidad and Tobago's downstream energy sector is seeking a senior leader to head its operations and logistics division. The role has two mandates: to run a 24/7, safety-critical distribution and transport operation to the highest standards of HSE and process discipline, and to grow the business by developing and launching new products, services and revenue streams for an established industrial and commercial customer base.

About You

You are a hands-on operations leader from the energy, marine, logistics or another high-risk, round-the-clock environment, with the discipline to follow through and the maturity to engage confidently with senior customer, regulatory and industry stakeholders. You are analytical, commercially minded and a clear communicator, equally effective on the ground and in the boardroom.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Lead a 24/7 distribution and transport operation to achieve safety, service, cost and productivity targets,       including manpower, fleet and inventory control.
  • Champion HSE across the division, ensuring full compliance with the OSH Act, the company's HSE management system, and customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and execute strategies to commercialise new business lines, including scoping, evaluating, short-listing and launching new products and services backed by clear business cases.
  • Grow revenue from existing and new customers and serve as the senior point of contact for key industrial and commercial accounts.
  • Lead, coach and hold accountable a large frontline, shift-based team in line with sound industrial relations practice.
  • Analyse operational and financial performance, report to senior leadership, act decisively on variances and manage the divisional budget.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, regulators and industry partners.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field; an MBA or MSc is preferred.
  •  A minimum of 5 years' progressive operations experience in a high-risk environment, including at least 2 years managing large frontline or shift-based teams.
  • Demonstrated HSE leadership, with working knowledge of ISO 45001 and the OSH Act. NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • A track record of commercialising new products, services or business lines; experience in marine, export or energy-sector business development is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, advanced Excel, and excellent written, verbal and negotiation skills.
  • Availability to support a 24/7 operation, including on-call nights, weekends and public holidays.

What We Offer

A senior leadership role with the opportunity to shape a new line of business, and a competitive package including a company-assigned vehicle, health plan and pension.

How to Apply

In your cover letter, briefly describe (1) a 24/7, HSE-critical operation you have led, including team size, and (2) a new product, service or business line you have commercialised and the results achieved.

All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
