POSITION SUMMARY:

As the E&I Superintendent for this growing, dynamic company, your primary objectives are to:

• Manage and implement department policies, strategies and programmes in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Direct and supervise the E&I Team providing expertise and ensuring the application of the appropriate standards in the maintenance and projects associated with gas processing, production and export.

• Manage and direct the activities of the Information Communication and Technology Section(ICT).

• Direct and coordinate activities to ensure the reliability, efficiency and availability of plant systems and equipment.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY FUNCTIONS:

• Technical Authority for E&I activities providing on-site engineering consultation during all stages of the project life cycles. Approves all associated documentation as required.

• Ensure that equipment maintenance strategies are adequately set up and implemented as per defined schedules. Monitor the effectiveness of the programmes, maintenance reworks and makes recommendations for improvement.

• Leads the execution of turnarounds, major capital projects, overhaul and repair programmes in accordance with accepted standards for all associated E&I equipment minimizing downtime, while ensuring HSEQ and production targets are met.

• Supports with the review of inspection data as well as in the development of inspection programmes and as required.

• Review and approve the systems integration development, ensure safe, economic and technically sound decisions related to area of responsibility during EPC and operational phase.

• Ensure that team members adhere to the Work Management System and that the 

Computerized Maintenance Management System is accurately updated to capture real time information and historical data.

• Interfaces with lead contractor representatives to ensure effective contract administration and execution.

• Reviews the stock of critical spares, inventory of material, tools etc. in relation to maintenance and Information Communication and Technology (ICT) work schedules and make recommendations to minimize stock outs while optimizing cost.

• Establish appropriate policies and procedures for the Information Communication and Technology Section (ICT).

• Plan and coordinate activities of the Information Communication and Technology Section (ICT) , this would be conducted together with the supervisor or senior person for this section.

• Ensure all ICT infrastructure and services are up to date and functioning at a level that allows the optimum operations of the company.

• Oversee and review various ICT management reports, for both internal and external stakeholders, responding to queries , as necessary.

• Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved and addresses areas of shortfall. Recommends new or modified KPIs where necessary to Maintenance Manager.

• Support in the preparation of LTP and annual budget; implementing cost control practice consistent with the company objectives. 

• Conduct performance reviews/manage team members by providing feedback/guidance to improve performance.

• Ensure team members comply with work policies and procedures at all times.

• Promotes an environment which facilitates training and development of plant personnel. 

Directly responsible for continuous training of team members.

• Recommends promotions transfers, acting appointments and developmental opportunities of team members.

• Ensures the efficient use of available resources in the execution of maintenance works. Engages in manpower planning to ensure adequate staffing during normal and emergency conditions

• Interact and liaise with the planners and field maintenance team in order to maximize the efficiency of maintenance activities.

• Ensure that the interface with team members and other workgroup is seamless.

• Implements policies with respect to equipment long term planning, obsolescence/end of life, repair and replacement actions.

• Fully understand the company HSE policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to area of responsibility. Ensure that all HSE policies and procedures are implemented and consistently followed.

• Conducts safety walks, safety meetings and housekeeping inspections as required.

• Executes responsibilities as designated in the permit to work system.

• Participates in HSE, Trip investigations, job hazard analyses and prepares the related reports as necessary tracking department actions as required.

• Ensure compliance with all ISO policies and procedures.

• Prepares technical, monthly and other reports as required.

• Perform all other related job functions as required.

 

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from a recognized university.

• Minimum of 10 years in the Oil & Gas Industry with at least 7 years at supervisory level with proven experience at handling large scale EPC contracts, maintenance activities and turnaround management.

• Information Communication and Technology certifications will be considered an asset.

• An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge of process plant maintenance, design, operations and project management in the petrochemical industry.

• Knowledge in PLC, DCS, measurement devices, high/medium and low voltage power systems including control circuits and protections

• Ability to apply engineering standards, concepts, theories and practices to resolve operational issues. 

• Knowledge in Process Safety Management and ISO quality systems

• Previous experience directly related to Methanol manufacturing or similar processes will be an asset.
