Job Summary
The main responsibilities of this role are to maximize MFGFC’s FX Trading commission and ensure the funding initiatives are executed within the operating strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively seek out and secure new corporate and institutional fixed deposit clients and foreign exchange clients to grow the bank's customer base. You will be responsible for developing and managing a robust sales pipeline.
  • Develop and maintain satisfactory Customer Relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Monitor daily cash positions and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
  • Preparation of all Daily Treasury Dashboards, Cash Forecasts, Rate Sheets and other reports that are required by the stipulated timeframes.
  • Attend to all fixed deposit correspondence including Central Bank, confirmations to auditors and legal.
  • Trade profitably in all approved currencies.
  • Proactively manage maturing deposits and negotiate renewal rates/ confirm disposal instructions.
  • Ensure all customer records are maintained in adherence to KYC Policies.
  • Prepare CBTT Reports, for example, Daily Forex, Trading Position, Unsatisfied Demand, FD Reserve & quarterly reports where applicable
  • Works closely with Head of Department to prepare committee papers (ALCO, ARC etc) by stipulated deadline dates. May serve as the ALCO recording secretary.
  • Conduct thorough research on local and international financial markets, with a focus on interest rate movements, credit risk, and currency trends.
  • Formulate and recommend investment strategies for the bank's surplus funds, analyzing and selecting suitable securities like government and corporate bonds.
  • Assist in monitoring the bank's proprietary investment portfolio performance and prepare regular, detailed reports for senior management.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on market trends and investment performance for the Investment Committee
  • Keep up to date on all communications including changes to MFGFC policy and procedures.
  • Adherence to Regulatory Compliance Guidelines, AML/ATF and Company policies and procedures for all products and services and customer transactions.
  • Any other duties assigned to the employee by the department head.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related discipline will be an asset OR Equivalent certification
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in use of computer applications particularly Microsoft suite of products.

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and experience in FX Sales and exposure management and business development.
