Job Purpose

The Inventory Clearance & Optimization Specialist will lead a focused initiative to analyse, repurpose, and sell aged or obsolete stock. This role is critical in unlocking tied-up capital, improving cash flow, and supporting the overall financial health of our industrial distribution business. The ideal candidate is part strategist, part salesperson, and part execution responsibilities - they know how to move product, work with respect teams, and turn “dead stock” into value.

Department: Procurement
Reports to: Finance Lead
Working hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Key Duties & Responsibilites
  1. Work with the finance team to review audit and classification of existing inventory, focusing on aging, obsolete, and excess stock
  2. Work with the sales managers to develop and execute a comprehensive clearance strategy: discount campaigns, product bundling, reseller & export outreach, online liquidation channels
  3. Coordinate marketing and sales promotions (email, web listings, sales team tools)
  4. Work with warehouse and inventory teams to track movement and fulfilment
  5. Build and maintain a database of potential buyers, including resellers, bulk buyers, and international clients
  6. Recommend pricing strategies to maximize recovery value
  7. Identify and implement inventory disposal, donation, or recycling options for non-sellable items

- Reduction in total aged inventory value (% per month)
- Free cash flow - generated from clearance sales
- Increase in warehouse space

Qualification & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in inventory management, product liquidation, or sales operations
  • Experience in industrial distribution or B2B product environments preferred
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Familiarity with inventory or ERP systems (SAP B1)
  • Comfortable with data analysis and reporting
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset
  • Experience selling through online B2B platforms or auctions
