Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the Company’s maintenance function, ensuring the reliability, availability and efficient performance of production equipment and utilities. The role oversees preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, maintenance planning, shutdowns, spare parts, contractors and maintenance projects, with accountability for minimizing unplanned downtime, optimizing maintenance costs and ensuring compliance with safety, food safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with production, quality, safety and business objectives.
• Lead preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Plan and coordinate annual maintenance schedules, shutdowns and maintenance activities with Production and Operations.
•  Monitor key maintenance and reliability KPIs, including equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR and maintenance compliance.
•  Lead breakdown response, root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring and significant equipment failures.
•  Manage, coach and develop the maintenance team, including manpower planning, performance management and technical development.
•  Coordinate maintenance projects, equipment installations, upgrades and external contractors, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, budget and schedule requirements.
•  Ensure statutory inspections, servicing, maintenance records and regulatory requirements are completed on time.
• Oversee the reliability of critical plant utilities and infrastructure, including electrical systems, refrigeration, compressed air and water systems.
•  Drive continuous improvement, reliability engineering, energy efficiency and asset optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, HSE and other stakeholders to maintain safe, reliable and efficient operations.
• Provide management with maintenance reports, performance analysis and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Maintenance Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in maintenance or engineering within a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated supervisory or managerial experience.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing, preferably within food, beverage, FMCG or a similarly regulated production environment.
• Experience managing maintenance budgets, contractors, shutdowns, projects and maintenance teams.
• Professional engineering registration or relevant professional certification is an asset.

Technical and Behavioural Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance practices. 
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, automation, refrigeration and plant utility systems. 
• Experience with CMMS/ERP systems; Epicor or similar is an asset. 
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and root cause analysis skills. 
• Excellent planning, communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
•  Strong focus on equipment reliability, continuous improvement and cost-effective asset management. 
• Experience managing projects, contractors and operational priorities.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to operational emergencies when required.
