POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Materials Assistant for this growing, dynamic company, your primary objectives are to provide expertise to:

1. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as it relates to material control and material handling processes. 

2. Safely handle all types of materials within the warehouse, put-away and retrieve materials in a timely fashion, inspect and count materials to ensure accuracy, and conduct preservation activities on materials to sustain its useful life.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensure that all HSSE policies and procedures are adhered to and consistently followed and ensure all work activities are conducted in a safe manner.

2. Must follow safety procedures and regulations including wearing proper PPE.

3. Maintains inventory by unpacking, identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock and recording location of inventory.

4. Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies requested. 

5. Apply material preservation strategies thereby ensuring that inventories are maintained and stored in conditions that will prolong its useful life. 

6. Assist with inventory counts.

7. Ensure that the warehouse is kept clean and tidy and maintained in a safe, presentable, and well-ordered manner. 

8. Ensure proper administration of all warehouse paperwork documentation so that it is processed in a timely manner, properly filed and easily retrievable upon request. 

9. Interface with other project disciplines to ensure reliable and timely flow of material and information.  

10. Ensure the highest security protocols are adopted and followed so that the inventory is housed securely.

11. Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections checklist. 

12. Performs all other related job functions as required. 

13. Follow all Supply Chain procedures as outlined by Company. 

 

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION:

1. High School Education (minimum 5 O’levels)

2. Certificate in Supply Chain management or equivalent.

3. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in inventory management and warehousing.

4. Minimum of three (3) years in the oil and gas industry.

5. Must be able to identify materials in the oil and gas industry.

6. Familiar with key components in the materials management environment.

7. An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.

 

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:

1. Excellent communications, interpersonal skills and customer relations skills.

2. Ability to perform tasks effectively, prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.

3. Pay’s great attention to detail and is reliable and trustworthy. 

4. Must be service oriented.

5. Ability to meet physical requirements which includes: standing, sitting and walking for lengthy periods, repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory, regular lifting and occasional climbing of ladders.

6. Good understanding materials (E&I, Mechanical, Construction) which is used in the  Oil and Gas industry.  

7. Ability to drive a forklift will be an asset.
