Job Details 

  1. Fabricate and assemble signs according to approved designs and specifications.
  2. Install indoor and outdoor signs at commercial and residential locations.
  3. Install and service illuminated signs, LED signs, neon signs, channel letters, light boxes, and other signage.
  4. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and lighting problems.
  5. Replace faulty bulbs, LED modules, transformers, wiring, power supplies, and other components.
  6. Operate hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, drills, ladders, and other workshop equipment safely.
  7. Measure, cut, drill, bend, assemble, and prepare various signage materials.
  8. Work with materials such as acrylic, aluminum, PVC, vinyl, steel, and other sign-making materials.
  9. Apply vinyl graphics, lettering, decals, and other signage finishes.
  10. Assist with sign painting, finishing, cleaning, and detailing.
  11. Read and interpret basic drawings, layouts, measurements, and installation instructions.
  12. Assist with site measurements and assessments before installation.
  13. Ensure signs are securely mounted and properly aligned.
  14. Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and other approved equipment where required.
  15. Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in good condition.
  16. Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
  17. Maintain a clean and organized workshop and job site.
  18. Work with other technicians, designers, installers, and management to complete projects on schedule.
  19. Provide professional service when working at customer locations.
  20. Report damaged equipment, materials, safety hazards, or technical issues to management.
  21. Perform other duties related to sign production, installation, and maintenance as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  1. 5 CXC/CSEC or equivalent, including Mathematics and English Language.
  1. Technical or vocational training in Electrical Installation, Sign Making, Welding, Fabrication, Carpentry, Construction, or a related field is an asset.
  1. Experience working-at-heights, scaffolding, forklift, or occupational health and safety training would be beneficial.
  1. Previous experience with LED, neon, illuminated signage, vinyl application, or digital signage would be an advantage.
