The Stores Clerk is responsible for managing the inventory of goods and supplies within the store or warehouse, ensuring accurate tracking, organizing, and maintaining inventory levels. This position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining an efficient inventory system to support business operations.


Key Responsibilities 

• Receive and inspect deliveries of material, ensuring that they match the purchase order and supplier invoice and is in good condition. 

• Accurately record all incoming and outgoing inventory in the inventory management system.

• Maintain proper storage of inventory items, ensuring that they are easily accessible and organized.

• Conduct regular stock counts, perform inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies. 

• Track quantity of consumables issued on a daily basis – liaise with Operations Department regarding large quantity movements.

• Monitor inventory levels and inform management of low stock items or any issues that may affect product availability.

• Ensure all requests for items have person’s name written legibly for receiving said items.

• All tools and equipment on loan from Stores must be monitored for the loan period and flagged to the Manager when the period has expired.

• All tools and equipment must be inspected upon return to ensure good visual and working condition and where necessary a report submitted as to why item doesn’t meet return criteria.

• Receiving and issuing consumables and tools to workers.

• Support the logistics team with stock transfers, deliveries, and shipping requirements.

• Properly update stock movement sheets, delivery notes, tools & equipment spreadsheet and vehicle log spreadsheet.

• Ensure counter both outside and inside is clear of any goods when the Stores is left unattended for any reason.

• Inform Finance Manager when Stores is left unattended for any reason,  so that relevant personal can be identified to perform relief duties.

• Ensure all work areas are kept clean and in an orderly manner such as sweeping and wiping the Stores area.

• Miscellaneous duties as and when required by management.


Knowledge and Skills 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills  

• Proficiency in Excel

• Familiarity with Inventory Management

Minimum Qualification and Experience 

• Five CXC Passes 

• At least Two (2) years’ experience in similar role 


Relationships 

• Reports directly to Finance Manager 

• Provides support to Operations Manager  

• Works closely with Operations, Facilities and Procurement 


Work Environment

• Corporate Office located at 48 – 49 Frederick Settlement Industrial Estate, Caroni 

• Working hours 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday 

• May be required to work off-site when Company events are taking place 

• Ensures that professionalism is displayed at all times
