Position Title: Project Engineer

Department: Continuous Improvement

Division:Operations

Reports To: Continuous Improvement Superintendent
 
POSITION SUMMARY
Support the development of engineering projects based on methods, strategies and advanced management systems, for all departments of the company, to maintain the continuous improvement of operational and administrative processes, ensuring the achievement of organizational objectives.

RESPONSIBILITES
  1. Lead multiple improvement projects across the company and ensure continuity of the upgrades.
  2. Develop process flows that enable team members to complete tasks in an organized, safe and efficient manner. Prepare and execute process improvements (equipment, tools, materials, etc.) to optimize workforce productivity. 
  3. Identify and develop management systems for efficient product handling, to ensure their quality and availability.
  4. Improve project implementation techniques using Change Management methodology; provide training to team members when required.  
  5. Design and / or redesign structures (software and hardware) to support optimal information management processes.
  6. Assist with evaluating alternative infrastructures (equipment, tools, plant, etc.) that will support the Company’s growth and success. 
  7. Ensure optimal equipment conditions for product manufacturing (current and/or new), both in capacity and material efficiency).
  8. Define and implement projects to develop packaging materials, chemicals and raw materials, to increase the productivity of materials on the production lines. 
  9. Adhere to and actively promote and ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies.
  10. Execute all relevant responsibilities as outlined in the Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities Matrix (MT-GM-004) to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS). 
  11. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to job performance.
  12. Other related duties and responsibilities as required. 

EDUCATION & TRAINING
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or any other related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Bilingual capability in English and Spanish will be an asset.            

EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Manufacturing, Quality Management, Environmental Management, Auditing and/or Project Management.
  • Sound knowledge of industrial plant operational processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management will be an asset.
