Location: Plant - La Brea & Corporate Office - Chaguanas

Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract - 2 years

Company Profile:
Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) manages a major fuel-efficient power plant in Trinidad and Tobago. The 720-megawatt (MW) TGU facility is a combined-cycle power plant which is owned by the National Investment Fund (NIF), the latter is a wholly owned entity of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT). The plant is located at the Union Industrial Estate, La Brea and supported by a Corporate Office in Chaguanas.

Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the following contract position: 

Job Purpose:
The Help Desk Support will serve as the initial point of contact for technical assistance to end-users, effectively addressing and resolving ICT issues through comprehensive troubleshooting and efficient ticketing management. The role entails escalating intricate ICT problems to appropriate technical teams, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base, and producing detailed reports on ICT service performance to ensure continuous improvement and high-quality support.

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
  • Diploma or Associate Degree from a recognized institution in IT / Computing or Computer Science
  • Demonstrated experience (minimum 1 year) in delivering Tier 1 Technical support
  • Knowledge of first level server/back-office support (O365, Active Directory, File/Server shares)
  • Experience (minimum 1 year) in VMWare enterprise environment
  • Experience using ticketing systems or helpdesk software
  • Microsoft MCSE or similar certification
  • Have knowledge of Cisco Networking environment or pursuing certifications
