Job Title: Sales Coordinator – POS

Department: Sales Department

Reports to: Sales Manager

Location: Golden Grove Road, Piarco

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing internal sales support to the entire Amerijet System (online and off-line).
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Provides timely and accurate coordination of sales information including, but not limited to sales promotions, sales leads, sales directives, policies, and procedures, etc. to all sales personnel, agents and other departments, as required.
  • Assist in obtaining credit information and performing collection activities as required.
  • Monitors market changes and communicates information about competitive services, products and pricing to the Sales Manager and Director of Online Stations.
  • Maintain complete records regarding customer information, including call reports accurately and timely.
  • Ensures timely and accurate coordination of sales information between all departments.
  • Represent the Company at industry trade shows and conferences.
  • Assist customers, domestic stations, international stations as well as internal staff in the facilitation of transportation solutions, whether air/sea/truck/rail or development of other service needs.
  • Work with operations, as well as partners to develop programs which will enhance service to clients.
  • Provide air/Interline/trucking quotes as necessary.
  • Provide specialized pricing such as spot rates, special commodities, and oversized freight rate quotations.
  • Ensure sales personnel are supplied with promotional materials.
  • Prepares and submit daily sales information and details about actual vs. booked tonnages.
  • Establishes and maintains strategic partnerships with third party vendors to perform logistics services such as local pick up and delivery and documentation services not performed by the Company.
  • Recommends strategies to assist in achieving sales targets.
  • Provides administrative support to Sales Manager and Sales Department.
  • Accomplish all the courses and training required by the company in a timely manner. 
 
JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/MEASUREMENTS:
  • Must attain established work standards of quantity and quality on a consistent basis by process or function.
  • Must meet or exceed work attendance standards as established in the Company’s Employee Manual.
  • Consistently follows Company policies and procedures (including Governmental and safety), and departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensures all inquiries are responded to within the same business day.
  • Implements customer notification of changes in sales policies or services, pricing, promotions, and schedules.
  • Monitor supplies of sales kit materials and assemble kits for distribution and inventory.
  • Identify and qualify prospective customers and produce appropriate contact lists for use by sales personnel for air.
  • Provide Logistics support such as quotes, trucking, pricing, reservations, and coordination for both our external and internal clients.
  • Provides support to the entire Amerijet online and offline Network.
  • Provides all quotes and coordination for all Air, Logistics and Interline traffic for our external and internal customers.
  • Answer all incoming calls from prospective customers / offline and online agents.
  • Contact potential or existing customers to inform them about our service and to fill specific daily flight/destination(s).
  • Go the “Extra Mile” to meet sales quota and facilitate future sales.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a college or technical school or a combination of two years’ experience and/or training
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to learn customized systems (SmartKargo)
  • Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and processes
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Experience in the airfreight industry a plus
  • Bilingual – Spanish and English highly preferred
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This job requires no supervisory responsibilities.  May be required to train and assist other employees.
 
TRAVEL:
  •  None required.
 
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time.  Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment.
