Description
- Performs quality control checks in the production areas.
- Ensures that safety devices (sprinklers, heat detectors etc.) are functioning properly at all times and established Health, Safety and Environment procedures are practiced and adhered to throughout the Plant.
- In conjunction with the Manager, perform semi-annual and annual employees’ performance appraisals for all direct reports and communicate improvement actions required.
- Ensure all Bulk Peddling trucks are off-loaded and volume of gas recorded and verify by Plant Technician. Also ensure that all Bulk Peddling Trucks are loaded through the in-line meter and quantity verified and signed by Plant Technician.
- Inspect all trailers used to transport cylinders, ensuring all locking devices are in good working order and all floorboards meet the required standards.
- Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures (staff and self).
- Informs management of all instances of non-adherence to HSE policies and guidelines.
- Ensures that all items are properly stored and stacked at all times in their designated areas for proper accountability.
- Responsible for assigning tasks to Plant Technicians, checking their work for quality and assisting when necessary.
- Responsible for the proper operations of all plant equipment and informs the Manager of issues and concerns with reference to same.
- Ensures that the Production work area is cleaned and maintained at all times to avoid accidents.
- Liaises with the Sales Department on a daily basis with reference to required stock.
- Ensures that all vehicles pound carry the maximum stock in keeping with set policy.
- Assists the computer scale personnel in adjusting filling machines.
- Ensures that workers sign on arrival for work, signs out upon their departure and verifies the times (straight hours and overtime).
- Responsible for the checking in and out of the Trailers and Tank Wagons.

- Possession of a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technician’s Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of three (3) C.X.C./G.C.E subjects including Mathematics and English
