Primary Purpose
The General Manager is responsible for the comprehensive financial, operational, and commercial performance of the organization. This includes providing strategic direction, managing day-to-day operations, fostering strong client relationships, leading teams, streamlining processes, and driving sustainable business growth. The role demands strong leadership in client engagement, people management, process optimization, and strategic planning to ensure organizational success.
Strategic Leadership and Business Growth
- Develop, coordinate, and implement strategies to achieve new business growth and enhance profitability on existing accounts.
- Identify opportunities to innovate and introduce new business initiatives to meet evolving client needs.
- Establish and manage measurable performance goals for sales teams, ensuring targets are realistic and achievable.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular client meetings and exceptional service delivery.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring their needs are understood and effectively met.
Operational Excellence
- Streamline operational processes, identifying and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure quality control measures are robust, with departments delivering superior products and services to clients.
- Oversee purchasing, inventory management, warehouse operations, and logistics to maintain compliance and operational balance.
Financial Oversight
- Supervise accounting functions, including receivables and cash flow management, ensuring sound financial practices.
- Monitor financial performance metrics to drive profitability and cost-effectiveness.
People and Performance Management
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to managers and senior staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee workforce planning to align with current and future operational needs.
- Address staff-related matters, including recruitment, training, disciplinary action, and terminations, as necessary.
- Develop and oversee staff performance management systems, ensuring accountability and continuous development.
Human Resource and Administrative Oversight
- Ensure all administrative functions, such as personnel records, contracts, work permits, and performance appraisals, are accurately maintained.
- Lead the organization’s HR functions, addressing recruitment, training, and employee relations.
Project and Data Management
- Oversee large-scale projects, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Analyze and interpret data to produce actionable performance reports.
Other Duties
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer to support organizational objectives.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred would be considered an asset)

- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in general management, operations, or business leadership roles.
- Proven track record in client relationship management, business growth, and operational excellence.
