JOB OVERVIEW:
The Human Capital Associate is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating Human Resource Management activities of the organization to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  1. Recruitment & Selection
    • Workforce Planning – To ensure that manpower needs are planned and budgeted for according to strategic objectives, as well as active management throughout the year.
    • Actively participate in the recruitment of staff as required.
    • Retention Strategies – To continuously review organizational turnover and implement strategies with the aim of retaining best talent.
  2. Job Analysis / Evaluation
    • Function as an active member on the Job Evaluation Committee, ensuring that all jobs are properly evaluated using the Hay Methodology.
    • Position Profiling – To ensure that positions are designed and reviewed based on changing business landscape.
  3. Performance Management
    • Ensure that performance management system is being conducted properly and escalate where necessary. 
    • Provide training, advice and counsel on performance management to the line as required.
  4. Change Management 
    • To work with the line in any change initiative that they may have and provide the necessary support from an HC perspective.
  5. Operational Management
    • Manage and report on the day-to-day operations of the department through the continuous measurement of operational performance.
    • Prepare HC budgets, oversee and monitor HC expenditure within agreed budgets.
    • Organize, plan and delegate work.
    • Monitor work processes – quality and timeliness of output.
    • Compile and provide data for auditors as required. 
    • Maintain and update the HC Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook
  6. Executive Support
    • Support the Executive Recruitment and Exit Process.
    • Process Executive payroll on a monthly basis and prepare all journals accordingly.
    • Remit statutory payments (PAYE, NIS, Health Surcharge), standing orders and salary deductions to relevant authorities. 
    • Support the bonus and increment process.
    • Ensure leave administration queries for Executives are addressed.
    • Prepare reports on Executives across the Group as requested.
  7. Compensation and Benefits
    • Support the Management with the preparation and response of compensation surveys.
    • Administer the Tobago Plantations apartment assignment process.
    • Ensure parking arrangements for the respective offices are in accordance with guidelines.
  8. Strategic HC Activities
    • To work with management to develop a robust HC Strategy, continuously seeking to deliver business objectives
    • To make recommendations for technological solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    • To work in collaboration with the HC Management Team to promote the HC Brand through varied initiatives.
    • To foster worklife balance through continuous and collaborative review of programmes, activities and work arrangements, with the Management Team.
    • To work towards continuously improving engagement levels across the company
  9. People Management
    • Lead, motivate, inspire, and encourage employees through effective performance management – setting of clear goals and objectives, ensuring that performance gaps are closed through relevant training, monitoring work performance through continuous performance discussions and timely completion of appraisals as well seek to align reward to performance
  10. Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain cordial relationships with the company’s management and senior management based on trust, knowledge and partnership.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
  • A first degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management or any related field. 
  • At least three (3) Years supervisory experience, with a minimum of 2+ years of high volume recruiting and 5+ years of HR related experience
  • Excellent Work Management Skills
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Strong experience in managing both up and down the chain of command

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
  • As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: 
  • The Human Capital Associate needs Sound people skills and requires the confidence and communication skills to deal in a calm and tactful manner with a variety of situations, balancing the needs of the individual employee against the business interests of the organisation. The incumbent may be required to operate in stressful situations. In addition, so he / she would need a measure of resilience and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality. Accuracy, attention to detail, co-operation and teamwork are as important as a fair and objective attitude.
