Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) manages a major fuel-efficient power plant in Trinidad and Tobago. The 720-megawatt (MW) TGU facility is a combined-cycle power plant which is owned by the National Investment Fund Holding Company Limited (NIFHCL), the latter is a wholly owned entity of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT). The plant is located at the Union Industrial Estate, La Brea and supported by a Corporate Office in Chaguanas.
Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the following contract position:
Job Purpose:
The Junior Reliability Engineer - Mechanical will provide technical support in the field of mechanical engineering to the Reliability Team, supporting effective asset management through proactive maintenance strategies and quality control measures. The incumbent will conduct root cause failure analysis, generate trip reports and perform various plant performance testing. Additionally, the Junior Reliability Engineer - Mechanical will oversee vendor engagement for reliability services and support the QA/QC Reliability Engineer, in service of the team’s mission of enhancing plant reliability and operational efficiency.

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
- BSc. Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Possess at least five years of industry experience.
- Experience in power plant operations and maintenance will be an asset.
- Certification and/or experience with CBM techniques such as turbomachinery analysis, vibration analysis, infra-red analysis and oil analysis.
- Experience working with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS).
