Job Summary:
The Inventory Auditor will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of our inventory records, performing audits, reconciling discrepancies, and collaborating with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting principles. This position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a solid understanding of both inventory management and basic accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular and thorough physical inventory audits, comparing physical counts to system records and investigating any discrepancies.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of inventory transactions, including purchases, sales, and adjustments.
- Prepare detailed audit reports with clear recommendations for process improvements and corrective actions for inventory management processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Collaborate with the accounting department to reconcile inventory records with financial statements, ensuring proper valuation and accounting treatment of inventory.
- Monitor and analyze inventory turnover and other key metrics to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Assist with the preparation of month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring that inventory is accurately reflected in financial reports.
- Review and maintain inventory records in the Odoo system, ensuring accurate entries for all inventory movements.
- Perform periodic cycle counts and full physical inventory counts as part of routine auditing procedures.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, collaborating with warehouse, purchasing, accounts and sales departments as needed.
- Provide support during internal and external audits, supplying requested documents and explanations regarding inventory practices.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and accounting standards related to inventory management and auditing.
Requirements:
- Degree or its equivalent in an area of study related to either Business Management or Engineering or Accounting.
- 3-4 Years of experience in a similar environment.
- Strong retail operations understanding and ability to think critically and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
