Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-House Auto Electrician with a strong background in heavy equipment electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components in a fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine electrical maintenance and inspections on company vehicles and heavy equipment, including trucks, trailers, vacuum tankers, pumps, compressors, other.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repair and replace faulty wiring, lighting systems, ignition systems, and other electrical components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment longevity.
- Maintain accurate service records and document electrical repairs performed.
- Coordinate with the purchasing team for the order and management inventory of necessary electrical parts and tools.
- Ensure all electrical repairs and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and complete repairs efficiently.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in heavy equipment electrical systems.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 CXC passes; technical school certification or relevant vocational training is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in auto electrical systems and heavy equipment repair.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, ignition, and battery systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to work in various conditions.
- Valid driver’s license
