Description


Scope:

Responsible for the Claims management function within the organisation, focusing on the efficient and effective resolution and processing of claims made by policyholders. To be mindful of the probability of fraudulent claims in order to increase detection and reduce such instances. Instituting measures to reduce claims ratio.

Main Accountabilities:
  • Remain abreast of any legislative or environmental changes for all territories where the Company operates so that proactive claims solutions can be made and or recommended
  • Maintain regulatory compliance
  • Facilitate the settlement of complex claims and process related paperwork for completeness
  • Assess whether a claim is valid or fraudulent, as well as arranging any follow-up action that is needed in terms of improvement to the client’s property if needed
  • Managing and training claims personnel, reviewing and approving claims, and ensuring that claims are settled in a timely and fair manner and in accordance with company rules and regulations, so as to avoid legal issues and maintain adherence to industry standards.
  • Ensures that claims administration is transparent and fair, leading to higher customer satisfaction.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Managing Director

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • CPCU or ACII qualification or BA in Insurance and Risk Management or related field
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a senior claims management position in a general insurance environment
  • Experience in Insurance Law will be an advantage
  • Strong Negotiation, Selling and Consulting Skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
