Reports to: Finance Manager
Location: Charlieville
Job Summary:
The Assistant Accountant will assist the Finance Manager in various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the month-end closing process. This role is ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of experience in accounting, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining and updating financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and assist with cash flow management.
- Help with the preparation of tax returns and compliance documentation.
- Assist in monthly and year-end closing processes.
- Review and process invoices, ensuring proper coding and approval.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for accounting records.
- Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc financial analysis and tasks.
Skills and Qualifications:
- ACCA Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent qualification).
- 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
