Description
The Caregiver of “Our Lady of The Wayside” Community Residence, shall be responsible for the care, nurturing, safety and security of all residents by performing the duties and responsibility as outlined in the Job Description and adhering to the rules of ‘Our Lady of The Wayside’ and Living Water Community.
Duties and Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities of the Caregiver are as follows:
- To attend to the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each resident;
- Assisting in the planning, supervising and implementing of the Child Care Program that is aligned to National Policy and the Philosophy of ‘Our Lady of The Wayside” Residence. This will be done through :-
- Meeting child, recognizing their interest, challenges, styles, talents and pace of learning;
- Assisting in the preparation of the environment as a learning tool – which is decorated, ordered and attractive, in accordance with program goals and philosophy and maintaining a safe and healthy environment;
- Reporting progress of children – by keeping accident reports; maintaining anecdotal records, maintaining confidentiality and a professional attitude;
- Reporting any suspicion of abuse;
- Maintaining open communication with Manager / Supervisor/ Caregivers / residents ;
- Maintaining close supervision over residents at all times;
- Inspecting, reporting and replacing damaged or lost materials;
- Attending in-service sessions / program and ALL staff meetings;
- Keeping all appropriate records such as :- records of attendance / time sheets/ incident reports/ feed chart/ medication chart etc..
- Supervising assistants, aides and volunteers;
- Meeting all applicable licensing regulations and standards

- Child Care Certification or any other related certification;
- Training in ‘First Aid” and “CPR”;
- Proven experience working with children between the ages 3 years to 10 years old;
- Computer Literacy;
- Possession of valid Food Badge;
- Fully vaccinated for COVID 19;
