Job Title: Facilities Contract Labour (Civil/Facilities Personnel) – 2 years

BACKGROUND
Our client is seeking qualified and experienced Facilities related technicians / tradesman on a contract basis. The extent of the scope of works is outlined below and shall include but is not limited to performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and providing general labour support for the upkeep of the Company’s Methanol and Di-Methyl Ether plant buildings and grounds. The incumbent will be assigned to the Facilities Team and will support with daily maintenance and upkeep of related plant and non-operational facilities including buildings, offices, lighting, ground, storage, welfare facilities and the likes.
 
SCOPE OF SERVICE
General scope applies to the provision of competent Skilled, Semi-skilled and general class labour personnel to perform Facility Maintenance (FM) trades at the Company’s La Brea Plant Facility. Accordingly:

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, inspect and verify the completion of site services, deliverables and activities by various vendors / sub-contractors related facilities maintenance function at the plant facility; this included but is not limited, cleaning and janitorial, hygiene, solid waste management, pest management, sewage treatment and disposal, potable water and other mechanical, electrical and plumbing services etc.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to and on behalf of, the Company, relating to routine facility upkeep / maintenance and ad-hoc civil works at the La Brea Plant site.
  • Assist with the development of Scope of Works (SOW) document for in-house facilities and civil projects and oversee the initiation, execution and close out of related works.
  • Ensure site activities comply with all aspects of established statutory guidelines and the Company’s Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) policies, regulations, permit to work procedures for the site.
  • Support with the supervision and coordination if site activities of facilities technicians and support personnel
  • Consult with company HSSEQ representatives to ensure inherent compliance of general facilities upkeep/ maintenance and project activities and the related work records /documentation align FM2506 – FACILITES – Contract Labour (Civil/ Facilities Personnel) with Company’s strategic goals as well Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Execute and verify field Quality assurance and Quality control (QA/QC) by ensuring quality issues/problems with site services are identified, recorded, reported, and promptly rectified.
  • Coordinate the preparation, tracking and close-out of site queries, punch list and outstanding items for the work.
  • Conduct site inspections, review and endorsement of site service records. Identify and report on any non-conformances (product / services / workmanship etc.) together with the implementation of corrective action in response to identified non-conformances through appropriate (HSSE, QA/QC etc.) audits to the satisfaction and acceptance of the Company.
  • Preparation and support with Work Permits records daily site activities, including assigned roles and duties under the same.
  • Perform other assigned duties in relation to the designated role.
 
Specific Skills/Experience and/or Knowledge
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality for sensitive company and project information, possesses good communication skills, tactful and effective in collating and reporting information.
  • Possesses a key balance of leadership, accountability, and teamwork skills.
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses assigned equipment and material in an efficient and compliant manner.
  • Ability to synthesize complex and diverse information and to works effectively, safely and prioritize in a fast-paced works environment.
  • Has an awareness and working knowledge of recognized testing, civil, structural and building codes such as ASTM, ACI, IBC, ASHRAE etc. as applicable to the outlined role.
  • Possesses working knowledge of reinforced concrete, structural steel, buildings and commissioning related works.
  • Good computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office and AUTOCAD.
  • Training and Certification in Construction Technology, Civil or Industrial Engineering etc. from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ recent experience in a similar role or holding similar responsibilities.
  • Technical training and certification in Quality based on ISO 9001 or equivalent, e.g., CQE, CRE, would be an asset.
  • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum requirements
  • Communicate effectively to all relevant stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot equipment issues and produce reports at a suitable frequency.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Be punctual and have a good attendance record.
