Position Title: Production Analyst

Department: Converting Production

Division: Operations

Reports To: Production Manager (Converting)

Division Head: Director - Operations
 
POSITION SUMMARY
To develop, analyse and follow-up on Manufacturing KPI’s in order to maintain the continuous improvement of operational processes, thereby ensuring the achievement of organizational objectives.  The position deals extensively with confidential, proprietary production and sales financial data and requires care and discretion.   

RESPONSIBILITES
  1. Manufacturing, performance and expense analysis & reporting.
  2. Perform physical material inventory checks of the work in progress and balance manufacturing orders weekly and for month-end closing.
  3. Perform data and statistical analysis, triggered both by individual initiative and at management request.
  4. Provide training and guidance to team members to accomplish company goals.
  5. Identify bottlenecks in the production process and design projects for their elimination.
  6. Participate in investigations into problems, perform root cause analyses and drive resolutions.
  7. Design audit processes to ensure the sustainability of improvements made.
  8. Optimize machine capacity and material efficiency in Production.
  9. Execute SMED projects to reduce changeover time and continuously review changeover procedures for process optimization.
  10. Train and develop the skills of operational staff to meet optimum levels in-line with manufacturing best practices and/or OEM recommendations.
  11. Define and implement projects to develop packaging materials, chemicals and raw materials which increase the productivity of production lines and improves the costing of the products.
  12. Participate in operational troubleshooting meetings for incurred operational downtime or failure to achieve production targets.
  13. Design and implement production optimization projects.
  14. Compiles monthly reports while developing documentation and continuously identifying solutions to improve efficiency and quality.
  15. Build strong cross-functional relationships within inter-related Operational sub-departments.
  16. Participate in the preparation of the annual plan, budgeting and forecasting.
  17. Adhere to (and actively promote among all Operations employees) and ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies.
  18. Execute all relevant responsibilities as outlined in the Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities Matrix (MT-GM-004) to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  19. Perform any other related duties that may be assigned.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management, Finance or a combination of knowledge and experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment

EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing, sales or finance environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in operational finance.
  • Experience with a Business Planning & Control System (BPCS) or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
